Acknowledgements
Many organizations and individuals contributed to the outcomes of this project. First, we want to express our sincere appreciation to the OASIS office of the Citizenship and Immigration for funding this project and providing us with an opportunity to develop a product that has been in our minds for more than five years. As a settlement provider we have been aware for a long time of the need for timely, comprehensive and accurate career orientation for newcomers.

We are thankful to our Advisory Committee members: Pam McLaughlin (Human Resources Development Canada), Pam Comens (Waterloo Region District School Board), Chris Brunk (Waterloo Region Catholic School Board), Adriana Parau (Language Assessment Centre, K-W YMCA), Marco Campana (Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre), Carol Trotter (Conestoga College), Marlene Kramer (New Canadian Program), and Josie DiZio and Michelle McGee (COSTI), for providing support and critical advice in the development of the New Canadian Career Quest.

Several employment support programs for newcomers of the K-W area contributed by providing a number of resumes of their past participants for our web site. We are thankful and hope that they can find this curriculum a useful resource to complement their services.

Many people contributed in the pilot phase of the project by sharing their career orientation expertise and personal experiences: Adriana Parau from the Language Assessment Centre, Valeria Cengic from Kitchener Collegiate Institute, Michelle Collett from HRDC, Michelina Riccardi from Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Houng Lian Zhag, K-W English School.

We are especially thankful to all our participants-newcomers who took part in the data collection and the pilot phase of the project. Our sincere appreciation goes out to Pauline Shore for providing the setting and sensitive co-facilitation support during the delivery of the General Orientation Session Module in St. Joseph’s adult ESL classes.

Ubavka Ivanovic and Olga George-Cosh from Employment services of the CCCS contributed greatly in providing the atmosphere, the setting and the expertise to carry out this project.

Finally, we want to thank many individuals among the staff of the Cross-Cultural and Community Services who contributed to this project and the web site launch: Maria Alvarez, Angela Gorni, Kocher Doski, Margie Lambert-Sen, Rahma Elmi, Kim Krueger-Kischak, Luisa Godfried, Bob Heringer, Iordanca Szelei, Ana Milojevic, Mira Malidzanovic, Islam Berisha, Masha Hall, Wanda Ernst and Kumrije Ashimi.
