Strong
Kids Campaign
The
KW YMCA is open to all. Each year, more
than half a million dollars is invested in the
KW YMCA’s promise to never turn anyone away
due to financial hardship. United Way provides
a portion of the support needed to subsidize memberships,
camping experiences and children's programs.
The rest of the dollars are either raised through
the Strong Kids campaign or invested by the KW
YMCA itself.
More
than 70% of the people we are serve are children
and youth. Since 1997, the annual Strong
Kids campaign has raised more than $1 million
to help children and youth experience YMCA programs
like swimming, team sports, day and resident camping,
and more.
In
2007, the campaign raised more than $128,00 so
that all children, regardless of their ability
to pay, were able to access YMCA programs.
By raising
more money through the Strong Kids Campaign, the
YMCA will be able to allocate more program and
participant fees to new programs and add more
services to meet the growing and changing needs
of our members.
