Day and Residential Retreats

Conferences, Meetings and Retreats

Ideal for Corporate Groups, Church Groups, Community Organizations, Youth Groups, Special Interest Groups, Universities and Colleges.

                

The YMCA Outdoor Centre is the perfect location for your conference or meeting, no matter what the agenda. We offer a variety of meeting venues, all set against a picturesque, natural backdrop ideal for inspired thinking and creativity.

Your group is sure to enjoy and appreciate the comfort and convenience of our unique, environmentally friendly buildings and spectacular site which is only a short distance from Kitchener-Waterloo.

Corporate Programs:

Our Corporate packages offer small and large businesses many meeting, recreational and teambuilding opportunities. Our programs can be custom designed to meet the specific needs of each group - we can simply provide a meeting space, complete with all necessary equipment including meals and snacks, or we can supplement your meeting schedule with program instruction in one or more of the many recreational areas on our site. Some of the many corporate groups that have participated in team building programs are: Canada Games Committee, R.I.M., Elmira Poultry, Manulife Financial, St. Thomas YMCA, Collingwood YMCA and the Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA.

 

Program Types

The extent of our involvement in your schedule is up to you.

Options include:

Complete Program - Facilitated by our staff. We will work with you to develop a program and schedule that best suits the needs of the group. Our qualified staff will facilitate a program with options that include: teambuilding, environmental and /or recreational activities.

Shared Program - Our staff will supplement your agenda with teambuilding, environmental and/or recreational activities, according to a schedule arranged in advance by your group leader and our program director.

Independent Program - If you are simply looking for a meeting location, we can provide you with the room(s), food service and equipment.

Office Services

A pay telephone is available on site and we are within range of most cell phone providers. If necessary, limited use of fax machine, photocopier, business telephone line and internet access are available with assistance from our staff. Please discuss these requirements during your initial conversation with our staff to ensure that we are able to meet your office service needs.

Meeting Spaces

The Solarium - 70 plus people

The Great Room is excellent for meetings and other indoor activities. Your group will enjoy the scenery - both outdoors and indoors - as you are right beside the lush greenery of the "Livining Machine".

The Dining Hall - 150 plus people

The bright and spacious dining hall situated on the shore of Paradise Lake seats 150 for meals, meetings and other programming options.

The Burrows - 20 plus people (sleeps 40)

This is a cozy and comfortable meeting space for a small group. You will enjoy the scenic view  of a natural wetland through floor to ceiling windows.

Food Service

All meals and snacks are provided and prepared by our full time kitchen staff in our well-equipped , modern kitchen. Meals are served buffet style in the dining hall or Solarium. Vegetarian alternatives are available and special requirements are easily accommodated with advance notice.

Coffee, teas, water and fruit juices are available and replenished throughout the day, and snacks are also provided while you work, or during predetermined break times. Snacks may include: morning - fruit plate, muffins, cinnamon buns, etc.

Booking the Site

Many of our bookings are arranged well in advance, but we are often able to accommodate last minute requests, as well. Please call to discuss the time of year you wish to visit. We are also happy to arrange a tour so you may see the facilities in advance and discuss your needs with our program director.
